A 52-year-old woman was fatally stabbed this morning during a domestic argument on the West Side, authorities said.
Rosa Hernandez, of the 2800 block of South Spaulding Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:38 a.m. in Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to a Cook County medical examiner's office spokesman.
Her husband, 55, stabbed himself in the wrist and abdomen, police said. He was reported in stable condition. No charges have been filed.
She was stabbed in the heart and arm at about 12:40 a.m. in the couple's home in the Little Village neighborhood, police said.

A Gage Park man was indicted today on reckless homicide and drunken driving charges related to a crash that claimed the life of a high-ranking Cook County sheriff's office employee last month.
Leonel Ortiz was indicted on three counts of aggravated DUI and one count of reckless homicide, Cook County state's attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin said.
Ortiz, 27, of 5801 S. Albany Ave., was charged in the Sept. 9 crash that killed Minerva Santiago of Palos Heights.
Ortiz drank about 24 beers while attending several parties with friends over the course of Sept. 8 and Sept. 9, including one instance where he bought a six pack from a gas station and drank two beers while driving, Conklin said.
Santiago, 58, was driving to church Sept. 9 when Ortiz, driving an SUV, slammed into the Nissan she was driving, according to police.
The collision happened about 10 a.m. Sept. 9 in the 3100 block of South Western Avenue.
Santiago was a superintendent in the sheriff's office and the first Hispanic female sergeant in the Department of Corrections. She worked in the Department of Woman's Justice Services, Conklin said.
Santiago was pronounced dead at 10:51 a.m. Sept. 9 at Mount Sinai Hospital, the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
Ortiz's arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 12, Conklin said.
