U.S. Citizenship For Illegal Immigrants By Early 2010

U.S. Citizenship For Illegal Immigrants By Early 2010

    17 November 2009

In a few months President Obama will push legislation to legalize the nation's 12 million illegal immigrants, according to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who assures her boss's jam-packed agenda won't delay his campaign promise to the influential La Raza movement.

By early next year the country's immigration system will be overhauled, guarantees Napolitano, who is the president's point person on the matter. The former Arizona governor dispelled suggestions that the administration is too busy with health care, Middle Eastern wars and other pressing issues to postpone enacting immigration legislation.

Addressing a liberal policy group in Washington D.C., Napolitano said that legalizing illegal immigrants will enhance national security and protect American workers from unfair competition created by lower-paid, easily exploited illegal immigrants. "Let me emphasize this: we will never have fully effective law enforcement or national security as long as so many millions remain in the shadows," Napolitano affirmed.

Under the plan Congress will provide temporary worker programs and a path to citizenship for an estimated 12 million people currently living in the U.S. illegally. In return, the illegal aliens must take a number of steps such as pay back taxes and fines, learn English and pass criminal background checks.

Unlike the legislation that Congress nixed in 2007, Napolitano says this one will pass because Obama has achieved border security and enforcement against employers hiring illegal immigrants. This may sound like a joke, but the Homeland Security chief is dead serious. "I know a major shift when I see one and what I have seen makes reform far more attainable this time around," proclaimed a confident Napolitano.

Leaked tidbits of the highly touted overhaul bill reveal that the measure is guaranteed to be "compassionate," according to the lawmaker (Illinois Democrat Luis Gutierrez) drafting the House version. Besides the citizenship path for millions of undocumented immigrants, it includes strict rules for humane treatment of illegal aliens in U.S. prisons and a plan to adjust (increase) foreign visa quotas for American employers.

Under the plan illegal immigrants will also get coveted discounted tuition at public colleges and universities nationwide and families will be allowed to remain together in the U.S. even when several members are in the country illegally. This opportunity to come out of the shadows will present the only practical and humane solution to the nation's illegal immigration crisis, according to the legislators putting the final touches on the bill

Janet is an ass. If 30 million illegals are granted citizenship, 30 more million will come and hide in the shadows. And on, and on, and on. Our national security is at stake until every single illegal alien gets out or gets deported. Its the only way of securing the nation.

I hate being a quitter but I am ready to throw in the towel. I hate to be a downer, but I can't see us winning this. Too many Dems on Obamas side. I am so sad today. I feel hopeless. I have been fighting this fight for too long, and although there seems to be 100% support on this site, we have no true support in the White House to stop the invasion. I am sick over it. I hate the fact that I work at an insurance office that is slowly becoming overrun by illegals cheating the system. My front desk job got moved to a side office in order to allow a Spanish-speaking girl work as the "greeter" and head office person, as our Hispanic customer base grows by the day. I hear their stories about "coming to this country illegally", but about how great this country is because job opportunities are so plentiful. I overhear stories of money being sent back to El Salvador, of their children getting special ESOL classes in our public schools, about illegals living in Jersey but getting cheaper insurance in Maryland using false addresses. We can't win this. I feel the invasion is too deep. They have the numbers. We are handing our country over to illegals. I am just so sick of it all.
Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"........

Napolitano, you are a pathetic joke and about as anti-American as they come. DHS, Department of Horrendous Stupidity should be the new moniker for the sorry excuse of an organization that you now lead. We've achieved border security heh? I think the Border Patrol and millions of American citizens and victims might disagree with you, vehemently I might add. You wouldn't know a "major shift" if it bit you in the ass. The only major shift that you might recognize is the day that you are unceremoniously yanked out from underneath your rock and thrown in a cell with a "gender challenged" bedmate named Chiquita.
...I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid...

What Janet doesn't realize is that illegals DON'T WANT citizenship. Citizenship includes responsibilities to the nation, which they don't want. The only interest illegals have in our country is how much money they can collect, how many freebies are available, how they can influence our government without taking on any responsibilities. Why should they want citizenship when that would greatly reduce their free benefits?

It ain't over until we win.

I think we must push "States Rights" legislation declaring that if Amnesty is passed it does not pertain to the State that have declared the state independent of the Un-Constituitional dictates of the Federal gov't.

    PS
We can take lessons from the French Underground and the Resistance movements. They came up against tremendous odds and look at how successful they were, etc.
