Betz Concrete Inc., in Escondido, is the latest local company to sign the IMAGE Agreement with the Department of Homeland Security.
Owner James Betz finalized participation in the program Jan. 20, according to U.S. citizenship and Immigration Services.
The IMAGE program was created to decrease unauthorized employment and the use of fake documents. USCIS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement train program participants on hiring processes, fraudulent document detection and how to use the E-Verify employment eligibility verification program.
Companies that sign up for the program agree to a variety of employment related reviews and practices including enrolling in E-Verify and the Social Security Number Verification Service. They also agree to undergo an ICE audit.
Other local companies participating in the program include Pacific Rim Mechanical in San Diego, A-1 Fire Protection in San Diego and San Diego Flight Training International.
