To zap illegals, jail those who employ them

On Monday, President Bush gave a speech designed to reassure his conservative base that he is serious about protecting the country from illegal immigrants.

Speaking before an invitation-only audience in Tucson, Ariz., the president didn't spend too much time talking about the valuable contributions that immigrants have made or about granting them the opportunity to become citizens. Instead, Bush focused on fences and raids and deportations. In so doing, he reached out to a disaffected Republican constituency that is increasingly hostile to immigrants â€â€

While many industries claim they can't find willing American workers, the truth is that they could find more Americans willing to do tough, dirty jobs if they paid more for their labor. Is it true that poultry plants couldn't find enough Americans to fill job openings? Or is it more likely they couldn't find enough American laborers for the wages they were willing to pay?
They would break the law to make money rather than to hire their own and be legal. If you have to hire illegals to make money, you're in bad shape and shouldn't be in business

Bush didn't say anything about business owners who knowingly hire illegal immigrants because their labor comes cheap: They will work for less than minimum wage; they don't seek health insurance; they don't complain about safety violations in the workplace.
Well, OF COURSE he wouldn't say anything about BUSINESS OWNERS. That would be like cutting his own throat.

And, OF COURSE those illegals are willing to work for less than minimum wage because they don't MIND living 30 or 40 people to a house.

OF COURSE, they don't seek health insurance because WHY WOULD THEY when they get FREE health care??

That about wraps it up in a nutshell. Bush's "new" plan is just a recycled version of his "old" plan. It is a disguised version of amnesty. It's an open invitation for more of the same. If the government turns a blind eye to these people who ILLEGALLY employ these people, it will just continue unabated. Greed---pure and simple.

I really hope the American people aren't asleep at the wheel after hearing this "NEW PLAN". I pray that others have seen what we at ALIPAC have seen for a long time. This man is for OPEN BORDERS and all of his "tough talk" is just a smokescreen to appease his "BASE".

Merriam Webster's definition of "BASE" (the SECOND one!)--
    1. Of inferior quality; 2. Contemptible; 3. Menial; Degrading!!!

Of course, this is not the definition which is MEANT to apply to "Bush's Base" but it is really more applicable than the other definition!!!
