It was quite a scene at Zandale Center earlier today as Lexington police officers and officials from several federal agencies descended upon a grocery store.

It was quite a scene at Zandale Center earlier today as Lexington police officers and officials from several federal agencies descended upon a grocery store.

Lexington Police along with agents from the FBI, ICE, US Secret Service, and IRS arrived at the Supermercado in Zandale Center about 9:30 this morning. So far they're being tight-lipped about the activity, saying they can't comment on an ongoing investigation. While they were here, they removed several boxes and lots of computers from inside the store. They also took one man away in handcuffs. We spoke with one of the store workers about the raid.

"I was scared when I saw all those cars pull up. I just said 'Oh my God!'"

People who have businesses in the area say they're shocked to see this kind of activity in the center.

"As far as I know we've had no problems from them or with them at all. We actually have a lot of employees who buy things from them. Drinks, cokes, food, that kind of thing. We've never had any problem at all," says Heather Powell, who runs some nearby stores.

Those who live nearby say the raid is unsettling.

"We were just up here for a brief lunch and I just don't like the idea of something like this going on close to where my family is," says Carol Wills.

FBI agents were also at a house on Golf Club Drive in Jessamine County today. Officials won't say whether or not this is related to the Lexington investigation.

A worker inside the grocery store tells me that they run a clean operation and they've never had any problems with the law.
