Italian Interior Minister explains new tougher migration policy

“After three months of work, meetings, listening and dialogue, also three months of insults, threats, accusations, lies, we have the law.”
Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini released a video describing Italy’s new Law on Security and Immigration, from the ‘bad guy, deputy PM Matteo Salvini’.
In the very well received 12 minute video he goes on today that Parliament will begin discussions and improving of the dozens of articles that, ‘from our point of view, will bring more security to the streets of Italy’.

It’s easy to see why the people of Italy are so fond of this man. Polling higher and higher each month as the most popular politician in Italian history, he quips in his video, “By the way, a big kiss to President Juncker, who today has not yet insulted me, the government or Italy, but it’s only mid-afternoon.”
Continuing he says: “But Moscovici took care of that, a French socialist. What was it he said, today he said, “The problems for Europe are Salvini, Le Pen and Orban, the leaders of the far right.”
“A French socialist giving advice to people is laughable. Clearly if the people of Europe are unhappy with the bureaucrats, technocrats and financiers who impoverished and frightened and entire continent, and place their trust in the Salvinis, Orbans and Le Pens, clearly the problem is those who mis-governed for years, not us.”

Interestingly today, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker made the statement that the EU wouldn’t survive an Italian exit.

Claming that “Europe needs Italy and Italy needs Europe,” Juncker said the EU would not survive Italy exiting the bloc. He stated recent surveys suggest that the majority of Italian people are in favour of Italy being in the eurozone.
Deputy PM Salvini goes onto describe what the new law will change for Italy: “So what will change for Italians and legal immigrants and genuine refugees with this law and genuine refugees with this law Above all, in the interest of common sense and justice, I explained this to President Mattarella, we are respecting the constitution and the international conventions, but we won’t be made fools of.
“So if an asylum seeker arrives in Italy, lands in Italy, requests political asylum, and in the meantime deals drugs, strikes a police officer, mugs a pensioner or molests a child, they will be immediately summoned by the local prefecture and told, my dear, you’re not a refugee, you’re a criminal, and… first plane, first boat, first pedalo, first hot air balloon, back home.”
“If you are caught in the act, if you are found guilty in the first instance, if you are found to be a danger to society, you go back to your country (…) Italian citizenship will be stripped from those found guilty of terrorism.”
There is no surprise that the comments under the video are praising Matteo and people in other countries saying they wish for a leader as strong and loyal to his people as Salvini, with Italy, Poland, Hungary being the envy of Europe.
