Marta Rivera Alanis, a 33-year-old kindergarten teacher, calmed her 15 students during a gun battle outside her classroom in Monterrey, Mexico by singing a Barney song. The teacher belongs to a Security Committee for Teachers and recorded video of the incident on her Blackberry to show her security trainees.

The battle left five dead, but none of the teachers or students at the school were injured.
