I tried to go...husband is a jerk!
Last year, I was extremely pro-active and actually organized a couple protest myself...but I had to tone down my activism because it was jeopardizing my marriage.
My husband who could give a flying flip about illegal immigration and wonders why I am not hanging out with Cindy Sheehan protesting the war in Iraq?....Not that I am totally for the war but in certain situations, I do support the president....Nevertheless, my husband has been very critical of my efforts to do anything for our cause to fight illegal immigration. If I go protest a company that hires illegals....I have to lie and say that I am going shopping, visiting friends, or working my second job....I send out letters to the President, to my representatives, and companies through a post office box so he does not find out about it....I have posters and bumper stickers that I put on my car to drive around to inform folks about illegal immigration but I have to take them off before I get home and work...
I really hate to do this in secret but I have no choice....
Last weekend, we just happen to be in northern VA for a job fair for the Navy contractors for my husband...I tried to plead with him to stay over Sunday so I can attend the rally in DC....of course, that went over really well as you can guess....I wanted to go so bad but the majority of the drive back on Sunday morning was about my priorities should not be about things like illegal immigration and more about our home, the pond we are putting in and other projects around the house...
In short, though I could not be there I was there in spirit....I will continue to fight my silent war even if I have to do it "Underground"....
Sorry folks...maybe he will come around one day...
