About this video
Creating a culture of disease...
Who determines what American kids eat each day?
To a large degree, it is the Federal Government. Congress and the Department of Agriculture approve what foods can (and can't) be served to over 30 million American school children who get daily meals from the National School Lunch Program.
The government gets a ton of pressure from a food and beverage industry frantic to keep kids hooked on a diet of sodas, snacks and hot dogs. The competition, for a piece of this $10 billion market, is particularly fierce right now because this year, the School Lunch Program is being reviewed and revised.
Despite the enormous nutritional and financial stakes at play, ANP was the only media to cover a recent panel set up to discuss the school menu. While nutritionists outnumbered the press, corporate lobbyists outnumbered everyone.
The statistics are undeniable.
Americans are the least healthy people among
the world's developed nations (Japan, Australia,
Germany, Canada, France, England etc.)
In fact, there are even undeveloped nations that have
healthier populations.
What's going on?
How can the richest country in the world also be
the sickest?
Is it the so called "health care" system? That's part of it.
But one of the root cause is something the corporate
giants and their friends in the news media and government
have done a first class job of keeping out of public
consciousness...until now.

About this video
You may not agree with everything on the menu, but this is a vast improvement over the poison school children are fed every day all in the name of a buck.
The Real Food Channel
What happens when schools care
Is it possible that the problems so many children and schools have these days are food related? Could it be that simple?
The trend today is to demonize children and young people: drug them, psychoanalyze them, treat them as potential criminals. This is very profitable for the drug companies and the prison-industrial complex.
What's your school district feeding the children in its care?
In a recent video, we saw how the garbage food industry
lobbies hard to make sure its junk is peddled in the
nation's public school system.
Is there an alternative?
There sure is.
It's proven and it works.

The idea of dictating meal choice is outrageous. I also strongly disagree with taxing sodas and junk foods considered unhealthy..I believe an individual should make their own choices. When one considers the Food "tryanny" act that has passed it's hard not to think it sinister.
