Sessions: IRS Checks To Illegal Immigrants Part of Larger Border Problem
Sessions: IRS Checks To Illegal Immigrants Part of Larger Border Problem
Published on May 10, 2012 by SenatorSessions
Sen. Sessions, a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, spoke on the Senate floor today about the need to restore lawfulness to the border and actions taken by the Obama Administration that undermine that goal. Sessions raised concerns about the DREAM Act proposed by Senator Dick Durbin, which would extend amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, including to those convicted of crimes. Sessions also discussed an Inspector General's report found that more than $4 billion in taxpayer money was being distributed to illegal immigrants who claimed as dependents children living in other countries.
Sessions also quoted Gov. Mitt Romney, who during a presidential debate recounted a conversation he'd had with Border Patrol agents in San Diego: "They said, when employers are willing to hire people who are here illegally, that's a magnet, and it draws them in. And sanctuary cities, giving tuition breaks to the kids of illegal aliens...Those things also have to be stopped. If we want to secure the border, we have to make sure we have a fence, determining where people are, enough agents to oversee it, and turn off that magnet. We can't talk about amnesty, we cannot give amnesty to those who have come here illegally."Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Reid Objects To Bill Closing IRS Tax Credit Loophole For Illegal Aliens
Published on May 22, 2012 by SenatorSessions
Sen. Sessions and Louisiana Senator David Vitter spoke on the Senate floor today to explain a tax loophole that allows illegal aliens to wrongfully claim more than $4 billion a year in child tax credit for dependents, many of whom don't even live in the United States, and to ask unanimous consent to call up and pass legislation that would close this loophole (which the Treasury Department's independent Inspector General for Tax Administration has asked Congress to do in the absence of administrative action). But, as seen in the video above, Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked the effort. Closing the loophole would save taxpayers at least an estimated $4 billion per year, or roughly $10 million per day.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn
