Trump Announces 'Gold Card' Visa Program Costing $5 Million

Trump's "Gold Card" Program. Consider This.

Not a fan at all of this. The most important reason to not do this is that you invite potentially hundreds of thousands or a million more foreign citizens when we have 20-30 million illegal aliens that need to leave.

The Trump administration is facing a constant battle to remove the current invaders with rulings from out of control judges and activist lawsuits. Just a drop in the bucket in numbers.

American citizenship should not be for sale in this manner.

Well, we may consider that citizenship IS for sale in many countries worldwide via expensive (and inexpensive) Visa programs.

I chose to get a "Residency Visa" in Peru because it was inexpensive.

When I applied for about $2K to hire a local attorney, you could fulfill your Visa Requirements by staying 1 day per year which would be do-able.

But, right after obtaining the Visa, Peru changed their Requirements to staying over 6 months per year -- making it impossible to keep if you wanted to work in the US. [This same scenario happened in Argentina.]

This Gold Visa Program is about attracting people who have (or have access to) enough cash to start businesses ($5 million + other Requirements). Of course, just like anything, it can be abused. They are capping the number of these Visas to 10K per year as well.

Will need to think about all the ramifications of this new Program
