Thread: Video- How Mexico treats illegal immigrants

Did anyone hear the report about illegal immigration that ran in two parts on NPR's "Morning Edition" yesterday and today? It was about a program sponsored by the University of North Carolina which sends state policy makers to Mexico to learn about living conditions there. The politicians come back to the USA with pity for toward illegal immigrants and a reduced commitment to border and workplace enforcement. In this report, nothing at all was said about our country being at war. Nothing was said about terrorist threat. Nothing was said about the Mexican government having responsibility to care for its poor citizens. Nothing was said about how illegal immigration threatens jobs and wages for legal American citizens. I was appalled. Encouraging Mexicans to endanger their lives by sneaking across our borders is not the way to improve living conditions in Mexico.

I think this kind of "exchange program" for gullible politicians poses a real danger to our national security. Check out the print version of the report at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=6373536. It looks like NPR has begun pushing the open borders agenda again. There was a big outcry from listeners when they did so this summer, so they toned down their slanted coverage for a while. The corporate lobby must be yanking their chain.

If their treated so damn bad in Mexico, then why in the hell don`t show the US some respect?!!!!!!!!

Doesn't Mexico realize that the immigrants just want a better way of life?
