VINELAND: Police arrest man for performing lewd act in Kmart

VINELAND — Kmart’s famous blue-light special turned into red-and-blue lights for a man accused of performing a lewd act inside the store while unsuspecting customers shopped nearby.

Vineland police arrested 23-year-old Jose Jimenez Rugama on Wednesday after he allegedly masturbated inside the store on South Delsea Drive.

Jimenez Rugama was charged with one count of lewdness and held in the Cumberland County Jail on $2,500 bail.

According to police, Jimenez Rugama, of the 8100 block of South Route 9, Rio Grande, entered the store shortly before 4:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Store security observed Jimenez Rugama looking around the store suspiciously, as if he were about to shoplift something, according to a report.

As a security employee watched Jimenez Rugama, she noticed he was covering the front of his pants with a shirt he’d removed from a rack in the store. Then, she noticed he was masturbating, according to police.

The employee told police that there were several customers, including children, in the store, but none of them seemed to notice Jimenez Rugama performing the lewd act, according to the report.

The alleged incident was captured on surveillance video, police said.

The footage showed the man holding his genitalia, according to a police report by Officer Michael Perez.

“Jimenez Rugama would only walk towards females that had their back turned to him so they did not see the act,â€

This sounds like another story I've read before about an illegal alien. Same thing, a guy following women around in a store.

I read one about a year ago about an illegal who was in the women's lingerie department of a store...ahem...using the merchandise to relieve himself.
