    Wheelchair patriot

May this patriot's obvious respect for our Flag, soon be the norm! This picture has been all over the internet, so forgive me if you've seen it before. Just seems to me to be a good time to remind ourselves of the price which has been paid for our freedoms.

Did anyone else have regular sessions in grade school called Citizenship? It was even graded with an S for satisfactory or U for unsatisfactory. Among other things, we learned to salute the flag in a parade and always got the little elbow nudge from a parent if we forgot.

Those of my children that began their school years in WA state in the 80's didn't learn that at school but you can bet they learned it from Mom and got the elbow nudge at parades, too.

Yep, we had those classes. And I got them in Brownies and Girl Scouts, too. And we had, in high school, AMERICANISM VS COMMUNISM.

So did I!!! Boy, are we dating ourselves, or what!!!

I notice at parades here that too many people don't stand up when the American flag is displayed. Where has the honor and respect gone?

    Mornin' CheyenneWoman,

I think that it's not being taught, nor expected. Ignorance is not bliss.

I, also, now think it's part of the Globalists plan to weaken the US. If children don't learn to stand up for our country and why, who's going to do so. They are our future!

We must teach our children as the schools no longer teach this. I teach my son all the time. This is the best country in the world and it is an honor to be an american citizen and to appreciate the men who died so that we could enjoy these freedoms everyday.
Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....

I always salute the flag or stand at attention/parade rest when the anthem is played.

The hairs on my arm stand straight up when I see the American flag waving strongly in the blue skies.

This land has a purpose. It is a safe haven.

Absolutely! Most vets feel this way. Freedom isn't free and freedom often comes in a blood price. Thanks for the welcome.

    That's so true, DD.

Which, btw, is the reason why most of them are disgusted with bush and the senate for their pandering to ILLEGALS, LaRaza and the rest of the anti-American, communist/socialist/marxist groups that are the open borders crowd. Generally, the VETS have had it with this administration and Congress for selling out all that they fought for, all the blood they left on battle fields........for their AMERICA a SOVEREIGN nation.
