ABC Bush Make Case for National Guard on Border?

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/popup?id=1965420

Did President Bush succeed in making a case for deploying the National Guard to the border?

Yes, this is clearly what's needed to control illegal immigration.

No, the military is being stretched too thin to accomplish this goal.

Let's find a nonmilitary solution to secure the border.

None of those are the answers I want.

How about "It might be a good answer to the immediate problem if the National Guard could ACTUALLY do something"

Let there be no mistake...The government is only attempting to do what they are supposed to do anyway...They are not going out of their way or doing anything special by putting the guard on the border and builiding the fence. Neither would they be doing anything special if we were to enforce the House resolution of enforcement. Somehow, they are packaging it as some kind of reform, when they are supposed to enforce their borders to begin with. That's what sovereign countries do. They should do it because that's their job. In US, in general, when you don't do your job you get replaced with somebody who does. I hope we get to regulate this before it is too late...and don't have control over our future.

    Stay sharp
