Apparently I missed out because I didn't see any poll on the page today. But the LEAD article on the front page of our newspaper was actually about Illegal immigrants for the first time ever. Usually, things like that are buried somewhere.

In this land of the "free" abortion is ILLEGAL after a woman is so far along in her pregnancy. It is ILLEGAL. When a mexican woman comes here ILLEGALLY and has her baby, that baby is NOT LEGAL, not on American soil. Neither is she nor her family. When she goes to our hospital, with us paying the bill for her to have that baby, they should both be taken after the birth of that baby and deported back to their own country along with the rest of her family that came over her ILLEGALLY. By her coming here to have her baby just so it can be an American citizen is ILLEGAL. I have nothing against foreigners coming to our country and benefiting our way of life as long as they do it like our ancestors did. LEGALLY like our ancestors did it. Taking our oath on OUR BIBLE living by our laws and living the VERY SAME WAY WE DO. The illegals are coming over here to destroy us from within and take what is rightfully ours, and doing it with our blessings and the blessings of our government. AMERICANS, WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. STAND UP FOR WHAT OUR ANCESTORS FOUGHT AND DIED FOR TO GIVE US. IT'S OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAWS, OUR LANGUAGE, OUR RIGHTS. NOT THE ILLEGALS.

WHO IS RUNNING THIS COUNTRY? WHO LEGALLY DOES THIS COUNTRY BELONG TO?

No, it doesn't any good to write to our leaders about this problem. They just send you an automated letter more or less telling you to go to Hell in a hatrack. I know. I have written everyone of our leaders about this problem and the response is always the same. A short automated letter telling me that they get so many emails on that subject and cannot respond to every email so they are sending me that letter thanking me for writing. THAT'S WHAT WE VOTED THEM IN FOR?????? THAT'S LISTENING TO OUR CONCERNS????
But one person alone cannot make a difference. Everyone needs to voice their concerns where it counts. Start by insisting those babies born to Illegals are NOT AMERICAN CITIZENS JUST BECAUSE THEIR MOTHER'S MADE IT TO AMERICAN SOIL TO DELIVER THEM. INSIST THEY ARE ALL DEPORTED BACK TO THEIR COUNTRY WITHOUT COMPENSATION.
ILLEGALS HAVE COMMITTED CRIMES BY INVADING OUR COUNTRY. TREAT THEM AS CRIMINALS, NOT ROYALTY.

My sentiments exactly. However, even if it "does no good," as you say to write our legislators and tell them what we want, it is the only legal means we, as individuals have. I not only write and tell them what I think, what I want, and what Americans want, I also write and tell them how disappointed I am when I look at the voting records and see that they did something otherwise.

That is true. I keep writing to everyone long enough, they will get tired of my writing and answer me. With more than an automated letter.

Even an automated letter is better than no response at all. Some actually do read the messages we send and I've received specific answers to specific concerns from some.

As long as we still have freedom of speech left to us, you better believe I am mailing everyone I possibly can as often as I can. Sooner or later one of my letters will be acknowledged. It's just a shame everyone won't write to our leaders. They surely couldn't ignore that!

The more we can encourage to do so, the better. I know I've encouraged several people to take action just by being in their faces all the time. LOL

I missed it too. I haven't gotten used to coming to this new topic about Polls and just expect to see them in the General Discussion area.
