    Should Maryland join all but three other holdout states and comply with the federal Real ID law, which requires driver's license applicants to prove they are in the United States legally?

    Indeed they have been. Hope Maryland really thinks this one through.

    Big boon for criminals and underage drinkers. Make up some fake ID, buy a fake utility or rent bill on any corner and get a Maryland license. Heck, why stop at one? Get two or more, live it up!

    Then we wait for the first lawsuit from a LEGAL Maryland resident when his/her license is not accepted as a valid ID outside of Maryland, precisely because they give them out without proof of legal residency.
