Before the Washington Nationals took the field to face the San Francisco Giants in Game 2 of the National League Division Series at Nationals Park, ceremonial first pitch honors were assigned to a U.S. Army veteran wounded in the line of duty while serving in Iraq, spending three-and-a-half years at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center recovering from a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Sgt. First Class Brian Keaton (Ret.) decided to stray from the usual pitch and the crowd definitely approved of the decision. Instead of just pitching the ball, he made his pitch a bit more memorable for the fans gathered in the crowd.
Watch the clip from Major League Baseball:

Keaton dropped to his stomach in the grass behind the pitcher’s mound as if to avoid enemy fire. Low crawling several feet to approach the mound, he pops up and lobs the ball towards the catcher at home plate, mimicking a grenade toss.
It always nice to see our veterans honored as they deserve and treated like the celebrities they are.
