[Watch] After-Briefing Confusion – Now Hagel Did It, Get Under The Bus Chuck

If it wasn’t for that last question, Buck McKeon (R-CA) might not be so bewildered. Someone asked just before the Bergdahl briefing broke up who gave the final go ahead to make the deal.
Ashleigh Banfield is as puzzled as McKeon, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, asking “is that accurate?”
McKeon said he was surprised by the answer, because he saw Obama appearing to be taking credit for the operation with the Bergdahl’s in the Rose Garden. He says it might be parsing of words or a response to the push back or something else, he just doesn’t know.
McKeon wonders who’s in charge and who is making the decisions. It did seem to him that it was Obama, but now it’s Secretary Hagel.
Banfield can’t help but jump to Obama’s defense, saying that Hagel doing it, it was still Obama’s team, which draws a wry grin from McKeon.
She presses him for a follow up question for the administration, and he has one, a good one.
