Trump's UK trip includes palace pomp, aims to avoid protests

LONDON – U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to Britain will take him to a palace, a country mansion and a castle — and will mostly avoid London, where noisy protests are planned.

Prime Minister Theresa May's office said Friday that says Trump will arrive July 12 after attending a NATO summit in Brussels. That evening he will attend a black-tie dinner with business leaders at Blenheim Palace, a grand country house near Oxford that was the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

Sophisticated safety features, a powerful V6 engine and incredible new style put the brand-new 2018 Camry beyond compare.

He will be greeted with military pomp, including a welcome by bands of the Irish, Scots and Welsh Guards. The Royal Regiment of Scotland — homeland of the president's mother — will pipe him out at the end of the dinner.

The next day, Trump and May will visit an unspecified defense site before holding talks at Chequers, the prime minister's country retreat 40 miles (65 kms) from the capital. Later Friday the president will travel to Windsor Castle, west of London, for an audience with Queen Elizabeth II.

The itinerary will keep the president away from London on Friday, where protesters plan to march and to fly a blimp depicting Trump as a screaming orange baby over Parliament.

The president will spend Thursday night at U.S. Ambassador Robert "Woody" Johnson's London residence but will otherwise steer clear of the city.

Trump and his wife Melania plan to spend the weekend privately in Scotland, where the president owns two golf courses, before traveling to Helsinki, Finland, for a July 16 summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump's trip is classed as an official visit, rather than the full-scale state visit, hosted by the queen, for which May invited Trump soon after his January 2017 inauguration. London and Washington say the state visit is still due to happen at some point.

Please, you're going to judge an entire country's population based on a group protest in London. That's like saying American's suck because cities in the United States have held protests against Trump. It's no secret that London's Muslim mayor has spread hate and discontent against Trump, but so has California's Governor Brown.

It's rather odd that you constantly tell us how great, terrific and wonderful Russia is, but slam a country that we are much more culturally aligned with and is without a doubt our closest ally.

In my view, the protest is non-consequential and doesn't represent England as a whole.

- For decades, American intelligence agencies have used clandestine tactics to put leaders into office who are favorable to US national interests.

- Anti-American protest happen right here in our own country.

- England is our top battlefield ally and is one of the few NATO allies that already meets the alliance's target of spending 2% of economic output on the military.

- As for trade, our exports to England are actually higher than our imports.

I think that pretty much covers your listed concerns.

Only because of Trump. From 1998 through 2018 present, we had sizable trade deficits with the UK 15 years out of 21 years. Of the 6 years we had trade surpluses with the UK, 3 were since Trump was elected. They're by no means the worst, but it's still not even, it's still not fair, and Trump is making it right.

UK is responsible for NATO. They and France are why there is a NATO. Trump shouldn't have to be the one marching and yelling across the pond to tell NATO to pony up or we're out. UK and France should be handling that, not the US. And the UK just barely makes their 2% switching on and off on how they measure their GDP. They're not as bad as most, but they aren't carrying their weight financially except by a thread and cheating on how they measure it and definitely not carrying their big stick or big mouths politically.

Of course we meddle in foreign elections, we meddle in foreign governments, we underwrite grotesque civil wars to topple foreign governments, hell we invade nations and risk the lives of our own soldiers to overthrow foreign governments even when its not in our best interest to do so.

What was your point? That you think it's okay for the UK to meddle in US elections, to use its MI6 assets and 5 Eyes agreement aid a corrupt FBI to rig a Presidential election for Hillary Clinton and when that doesn't work, to blackmail a newly elected Presiden-elect Trump and when that doesn't work, wage a phony investigation into a non-crime to disembowel the new Trump Administration and when that doesn't work, invite him to your country for a "state visit" so you can stage protests against him on BBC Tee Vee to humiliate him and our country??

IF the Brits think this shit is going to fly with this President and his big bunch of supporters, then you all need to think again. He's turned your state visit into a stopover on his way to meet with the Russians, and rightly so. When you all get some manners and some horses to back up those big hats and big mouths, let US know. Until then, you're an official ally, but that obviously does not make you our friend.
