Lack of education pushing Americans out of job market

Lack of education pushing Americans out of job market

Mitt Romney's recent USA TODAY Forum piece is interesting, and most of it I agree with. However, he appears to be afraid to tackle what many know is the real issue: We have an under-education problem, not an unemployment problem ("Romney: On jobs, where is Obama's leadership?," Thursday).

It would be interesting to know why companies in Taunton, Mass., did not show up to offer jobs during the town's recent jobs fair, as Romney stated. Perhaps they have tried citywide job fairs and are unwilling to waste resources speaking to a thousand recent high school graduates or college graduates with bachelor's degrees in the humanities, when they need experts in technology, science and math.

The front page of USA TODAY's March 30 edition included a story about the "frenzy of hiring" in the tech sector ("Hiring is hot again for tech sector").

In the 21st century, if you are not educated in genetic engineering, robotics, computer science, bioremediation or nanoscience, your outlook for employment is bleak, not only in the U.S. but worldwide.

Great, and so we keep welcoming, in their 10s of millions, the uneducated poor from Mexico and Latin America.

Fantastic! We really are on top of it!

If that is true, why are 350 college grads with all kinds of graduate degrees are having a difficult time locating employment that requires use of their education? Graduate students cannot pay for college educations working at Walmart and fast food restaurants. The students graduated when I did, so I know the truth pertaining to this issue.

But gee those college grads just won't work for low wages, like the globalists Corporations want. They can cry all they want that Americans don't have the education but we all know it is a ball faced lie. Where did they send our manufacturing bases too??? They can keep sending for low wage workers from other countries for what is left, but no one will be able to afford to buy there goods soon. The United States was one of the biggest consumers of all goods from abroad not any more....There is a leak in the dam and you know what happens when it breaks...it is almost there now..

Stop your whining Mitt Romney you were and are a part of this fiasco.
