16 people arraigned in connection to voter fraud

EDINBURG, Texas (KGBT) — Officials said 16 people are expected to be arraigned in connection to a voter fraud scheme in Edinburg Thursday morning.

According to the District Attorney’s office, the suspects are accused of voting illegally in the 2017 Edinburg elections.

The City Secretary, Ludivina Leal is among the suspects of the voter fraud investigation, according to a public information.

Also among those being arraigned are Daniel Castillo, Gudalupe Sanchez Garza, Aracely Montoya Gutierrez, Brenda Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriquez, Cynthia Tamez, Ruby Tamez, Belinda Rodriguez, Felisha Yolanda Rodriguez, Crystal Lee Ponce, Veronica Vela, Maria S. Aleman, Jose Antonio Vela, Alyssa R. Cano and Jose Ignacio Martinez.

Mayor Richard Molina and his wife, Dalia Molina, are also involved in the voter fraud investigation.
