A 17-year-old boy and a 39-year-old man were killed and at least 11 other people were shot in Chicago since Friday, officials said.

Police said a 17-year-old boy was standing on a sidewalk around 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of West Lawrence Avenue when he was approached by two men.

The men shot at the teen and he was struck in the upper back, according to authorities. The teen attempted to run but collapsed shortly after.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

Just over an hour earlier, a 33-year-old man was shot and robbed in the 550 block of West Huron Street, police said.

The man was walking down the sidewalk when he was approached by three offenders who robbed him of his money and fired a shot, Sullivan said.

The man was taken to West Suburban Hospital by a family member with a graze wound to the mouth. He was later tranferred to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

On Saturday, police said a 24-year-old man was shot around 11:30 p.m. in the 11500 block of South Racine Avenue.

The man suffered a graze wound to the forearm but refused treatment, said Sullivan, who had few details surrounding the shooting.

An hour and a half earlier, a 15-year-old boy was walking in an alley in the 3200 block of West Wabansia when he was approached by a group of men shouting gang slogans. The group shot at the teen, striking him in the thigh, police said.

The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Around 9:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the butt. He was walking down the street in the 400 block of East 73rd Street when he felt pain, the man told police.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition.

Outside the Far South Side housing project the Altgeld Gardens, a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg. He was shot around 7:15 p.m. near 131st Street and Langely Avenue, police said.

He was taken to an area hospital in good condition.

One man was killed and another man was injured in two separate shootings that took place around 6:20 p.m.

Police said a 39-year-old man was shot in the back of the head by three male offenders in the 600 block of West 89th Street.

Fredrick Ollie, of the 8900 block of South Union Avenue, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

At the same time, a 23-year-old man was also shot in the head during an incident in the 800 block of East 63rd Street, Sullivan said. He was taken in good condition to University of Chicago Medical Center.

Around 4:18 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in the right and left legs.

The man said he was walking in the 6100 block of South Kimbark Avenue when two unknown offenders approached on foot and fired several shots, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition and no one was in custody as of 6 p.m. Saturday.

Earlier Saturday, a 17-year-old was outside of a home around 3:10 a.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of North Mulligan Avenue when a known offender approached him and began shooting, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The teen ran into the backyard of the home and the shooter chased him, Greer said.

The boy was shot in the lower back and ran inside the home before he collapsed, according to authorities. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

During the shooting, a bullet went through a window in the home and a 53-year-old man was struck in the leg.

The man was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Greer said.

Police believe the incident may have been gang-related but no one was in custody for the shooting as of Saturday morning.

Less than an hour later, an 18-year-old woman was shot in the leg in the 1700 block of West 21st Place.

The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, said Greer, who had few details on the shooting.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks during a verbal argument around 9:15 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Bell Avenue.
