2012 Farm Bill: Big (G)AG Bonanza!

We are a country teetering on the edge of insolvency. In response to this looming crisis, those fine jackasses in the District of Criminals passed another 1000 + page bill loaded with pork barrel spending, special grants and subsidies, and special programs that no one needs or wants and no one could decipher to any great degree if they had to. This is intentional as it allows for “interpretation” later on when they need it to say something it most likely does not. This virtually unreadable, un-decipherable twisted up, convoluted mess of a piece of legislation will cost the US $969 billion over 10 years. Thats $969 billion dollars to be spent on agencies and programs that are actually, unconstitutional and which will further devastate the agricultural sector unless it is industrial, pro-corporate in scope. This while as a country we are not able to pay our bills without borrowing ever massive amounts of money.
Here are some of the highlights from the latest catastrophy from the District of Criminals:

3o million right off the bat so that the USDA can inspect catfish and 14 million per year after the initial funding. Bear in mind that this is the same USDA that is supposed to inspect all incoming cargo food containers and actually only inspects 1% of those containers because as they claim, they don’t have enough man-power or funds to do it. Maybe they can use part of that 30 million to step up their efforts and actually do something worthwhile.

As per Senator John McCain:

Popcorn will be subsidized with $91 million over ten years.

$25 million to study the health benefits of peas, lentils and garbanzo beans.

$200 million for the value-added grant program which gives grants to novelty producers like small wineries and cheese makers

$40 million in grants from the Department of Agriculture to encourage private landowners to use their land for bird watching or hunting. (Agenda 21 biodiversity!)

Sanders amendment #2310 Requiring the labeling of genetically modified foods and ingredients in foods, was of course voted down. This amendment is supported by only 91% of the population who want genetically modified food, or foods containing genetically modified ingredients, labeled accordingly. When you look again at the list of donors, you can see why. Million upon millions of lobbyist dollars are [donated] to various Senators to make sure labeling never happens. As this Amendment came to the floor I can only imagine the flurry of money raining down in campaign contributions from these same lobbyists willing to pay for privilege on CRAPitol Hill.
Jobs?

In all that I have read, I have seen not one thing that would produce any new jobs in the private sector. Instead, the expansion of federal agencies with regards to enforcement of unlawful regulations and rules looks to be a hot job sector for the next few years. Anyone willing to turn on their fellow Americans for a few bucks is encouraged to apply. Personally, I think it might be a good idea to brand them with a skull and crossbones on their foreheads so that we can readily identify them if the swat/military/mercenary getups doesn’t do the job for us.
And for other purposes…..

As with all the public assaults coming out of the District and presented to us as “public law” or mandates from an unconstitutionally created and empowered federal corporate agency, this intentionally screwed up and massive document includes in its title the phrase “and for other purposes”. “And for other purposes” actually means…..we are really putting the screws to you and loaded this up with pet pork projects, hidden subsidies, programs, and big pay-offs to our best corporate producers who keep us swimming in funds and perks.

A lot of pork barrel spending can be tucked away in $969 billion of funding and it would be interesting to find out just how much pork is in this bill. This is such a massive amount of money to be spent on interfering with agricultural activity and most of it going to surveillance, harassment, intimidation and the terrorizing of family and independent producers. All supposedly, to keep us safe from terrorists (and to help firm up the agricultural monopoly’s being established with the help of the District of Criminals). Only these days the terrorist we need to fear is probably someone from the federal government.

$969 billion to fund the 2012 Farm Bill which is just an expansion of another federal agency that will cause more grief, harm and unlawful aggression against US citizens. This should have been called the “War of Terror on family Farmers and Ranchers” bill.
