6 in 10 fail written Arizona driver's license test
6 in 10 fail written Arizona driver's license test
The Associated Press | Posted: Tuesday, June 14, 2011 12:19 pm
Only four in 10 applicants pass the written driving test in Arizona. So, the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division is giving people a little extra help.
Applicants can find free practice tests posted on the state transportation web site.
The state thinks that if people take the test online and then flunk it, they will read the driver's manual before taking the real test.
From July 1 to April 30, 2010 nearly 190,000 driver's license applicants took the multiple-choice test, but only 77,000 passed.
Safety advocates are concerned that people who do pass the test aren't retaining enough information to be proficient drivers.
