Six people were killed and at least 14 others were wounded in shootings in Chicago over the weekend as the level of gun violence in the city so far this year remains well above that of recent years, according to police.

Shootings in 2016 are more than double the same period in 2015, according to data kept by the Tribune. Killings are up 130 percent. As of Sunday, at least 365 people have been shot in Chicago this year and at least 85 of them have been killed.

The weekend’s homicides included two men who were found Sunday in a Bronzeville apartment, a woman who was shot in the head while trying to break up a fight in South Austin on Saturday, and a man shot while driving in Longwood Manor.
Three men were shot early Saturday after what witnesses described as a shootout between two vehicles in West Lawn. All three went to Holy Cross Hospital and then to Mount Sinai Hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead.

Police responding to calls of shots fired in Back of the Yards on Saturday found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and pronounced dead.
Three people were killed and seven were wounded from Friday to Saturday; one was killed and two injured early Sunday morning; and two were killed and five wounded from midmorning Sunday through late Sunday night.
