The DOJ and FBI plan to meet with Jeffrey Epstein’s incarcerated former lover and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell regarding info she may have about the deceased billionaire pedophile, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Tuesday.
“President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence,” Bondi said early Tuesday morning, quoting Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. “If Ghislane [sic] Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say.”
“Therefore, at the direction of Attorney General Bondi, I have communicated with counsel for Ms. Maxwell to determine whether she would be willing to speak with prosecutors from the Department,” Blanche wrote. “I anticipate meeting with Ms. Maxwell in the coming days. Until now, no administration on behalf of the Department had inquired about her willingness to meet with the government. That changes now.”

Statement from @DAGToddBlanche: This Department of Justice does not shy away from uncomfortable truths, nor from the responsibility to pursue justice wherever the facts may lead. The joint statement by the DOJ and FBI of July 6 remains as accurate today as it was when it was Show more

The message acknowledged the Justice Department’s memo from earlier this month, which claimed there was no client list or blackmail operation and that Epstein died by suicide inside his jail cell, stating the memo “remains as accurate today as it was when it was written.” For her part, Maxwell appears willing to testify to Congress, according to reports last week.
The DOJ’s announcement came as Republicans on the House Oversight Committee reportedly plan to subpoena Maxwell, seeking info on Epstein’s clients.
On Tuesday, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) filed a motion asking Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) to subpoena Maxwell to compel her to appear for a deposition.
“Ms. Maxwell is widely known for her role in facilitating Jeffery Epstein’s sex trafficking operation,” Rep. Burchett wrote in a press release. “Her sworn deposition will help shed light on the extent of Epstein’s criminal network, efforts to conceal his crimes, and the cover up that followed. This subpoena is a critical step towards transparency and accountability for victims of abuse and for the American people.”
Speaking to The New York Post, an unnamed Committee rep stated, “Since Ms. Maxwell is in federal prison, the Committee will work with the Department of Justice and Bureau of Prisons to identify a date when Committee can depose her.”
Other Republicans are also on board with getting answers on Epstein; however on Tuesday House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) signaled he would call an early summer recess in efforts to head off what he called Democrat “political games” over the issue.
“We’re not going to play political games with this,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) told reporters Tuesday.

Speaker Mike Johnson: "We want maximum transparency. We must turn the Epstein records over to the public. We are owed that. And we want any individual who has been involved in the Epstein evils to be brought to justice as quickly as possible."

“We want any individual who has been involved in any way in the Epstein evils to be brought to justice as quickly as possible.”
The latest developments come as two federal judges in New York review requests by the attorney general to unseal grand jury testimony on Epstein, which Trump asked for last week.
