In 1993, Adrian J. Gilliam Jr., 33, of LaVergne, Tennessee, was convicted in Florida for murder and attempted-armed robbery. Unfortunately, Gilliam was not put to death for his crime, for whatever reason.

Consequently, convicted murderer Gilliam was around to sell the weapon to the woman who murdered NFL legend Steve McNair,

As reported, in part, at Yahoonews:

“NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Federal prosecutors announced gun charges Friday against a convicted murderer who admitted he sold the pistol that was used to kill ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair.

“Adrian J. Gilliam Jr., 33, of LaVergne, Tenn., was arrested by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

“He is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Conviction could bring a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, federal prosecutors said.

“A criminal complaint says that Gilliam—who was convicted in 1993 in Florida for murder and attempted armed robbery—told police he sold the gun to the woman who later shot McNair.â€
