Socialism is an ideal which has surfaced time and again throughout history in cultures the world over. It sometimes takes the traditionally valid pretext that the weak can have as much to offer a society as the strong. Too much of modern socialism, however, elevates the "useless" elements found amongst the "weaker" (insightful) valid ones. Christian civilization has frequently tinkered with communitarian ideals and the Marxist variety was really the outgrowth of various religious based proposals trying to deal with the uncertainty of the industrial revolution, the loss of traditional occupations and the emigration out of the countryside. I even understand that the more optimistic socialists, proposed pensioning off the ownership class---just to get them out of the way of the actual management of industries ( i.e syndicalist socialists).

What is disturbing to me about this present movement is its shameless opportunism of trying to hold Caucasians accountable for everything in the world that...is....not....up to Caucasian standards. If there was so much of value in indigenous societies, like left wing anthropologists insist, why are people around the world so eager to adopt Western ways? We ought to at least get some credit for that!
