VIERA, Fla. (AP)—A top baseball prospect from the Dominican Republic who received a $1.4 million signing bonus from the Washington Nationals lied about his age and name in what team president Stan Kasten called “an elaborate scheme.â€

I admire the baseball league for bringing this fraud out into the open, if the kid had done something like this in Washington, Obama probably would have given his a high ranking position in his cabinet, along with a 30 million dollar salary taken directly out of the so-called "Stimulus" tax fraud monies.

It is amazing to me that they want to out a player who lied about his age but do not worry about the ones that cheat by using performance enhancing drugs.

It would appear this young man lived up to his expectations are the managers just upset that they were outwitted?

Just goes to show how the USCIS cannot spot fake documents either so the team need not be embarassed that they couldn't.

With a population of over 300 million, you'd think American baseball could be played by Americans.

As long as they have the proper paperwork that states they are who they say they are and belong here, I don't have a problem with whoever wants to play baseball in our country. As long as they are legal. If they are illegal than boot them out just like anyone else.
