Don't most, if not all, states requiring a photo ID provide one free of charge? I believe they do. How is obtaining the free ID any more of a hassle than obtaining a fishing/hunting license, bank card, driver's license, etc.?

Oh yes, I'm definitely a Republican, a Classic Republican like the original Radical Republicans. I'm not a "social conservative". Big difference.
You forgot I oppose the income tax and support the FairTax.
On E-Verify, I don't oppose it, I just don't think it will work the way people sit around at their desks dreaming it will. E-Verify does nothing to stop the employer who knowingly hires illegal aliens and that's most of the employers who hire illegal aliens. E-Verify protects the employer from unintentionally hiring illegal aliens, and there's very few of those. Most know and do it deliberately. E-Verify won't stop that. At least I don't understand how it would.
On late term abortion, I don't support it in all circumstances, I just think the decision should be up to the girl/woman and her doctor, not you or a bunch of stupid politicians. Generally, I support the guidelines of Roe V Wade. If states want to get involved in the late term, after 26 weeks or whatever it is, that's their choice to do under that Supreme Court Ruling. Feds should stay out of it.
On school prayer, I oppose it in public schools. Private schools can do whatever they want.
Well, geez, take my mom: you're 81, don't drive, your license has expired, you had a stroke that left your left-side disabled, you're in a wheel-chair and don't want to have to order copies of your birth certificate from another state, go to some public hole in the wall with your wheel-chair to roll in and have your picture taken and fill out a form, etc., etc., etc., to vote in a country your ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War to establish, because of people like you.
People are not home bound. They go to Doctor's appointments, grocery store, shopping, out to eat.
They can go get an ID. And if they are too old to get one now...why did they not get an ID 10 years ago?
They had no ID their whole life?
Life is inconvenient...we have to do many things that are a hassle. Or we get help getting it done.
PASS NATIONAL VOTER ID LAW!
A lot won't do it so I think the result in most elections in those states is a voter suppression that actually ends up hurting Republicans. Voting shouldn't be a hassle. It should be easy and enjoyable.
Not getting off your duff to go get an ID is voter suppression? LOL, they suppress themselves.
They are perfectly able to go to restaurants, shopping, Doctor office, visit relatives, go to movies, etc...but too INCONVENIENCED to go get an ID. Unbelievable.
And why don't these people have ID's? That is baloney. You need an ID to drive, buy alcohol, go to the bank, to work, go to the Doctor's office, get a library card. You need ID for many things. A police officer will ask you for ID...whether you are driving or not.
I had to show an ID to get into a Casino.
Nothing is "enjoyable" about 10 million illegal aliens voting in our country.
People should be proud to go get an ID and vote in this country. Not be lazy or ungrateful about it. Pathetic excuses to not go get one.
Our voting system should be secure and is a sacred right in this country...and with all this fraud and corruption in the World we do not want OUR rights compromised by illegal aliens and non-citizens (or dead people) who have NO right to vote in our elections and NO right to be in our country.
The only hassle is the one people put on themselves.
NO ID...NO VOTE!!!
Easy to order copies of Birth Certificate on line with the Bureau of Vital Statistics.
I'm talking about suppression, not repression. Suppression means simply stopping an activity, meaning in this case stopping voting, they just don't vote so you have smaller turnout for your candidates and lower turnout can mean your candidate loses when they might have won, because there were enough of those who stopped voting because they didn't have an ID and didn't go get one and as a result, they couldn't vote for your candidates.
So two items out of twenty makes you a Republican? Geraldo Rivera claims to be a Republican! Anybody can register as a Republican, whether they agree with the platform or not.
That's like saying you murdering your spouse is between you and them, and no business of a bunch of stupid politicians. Society establishes standards. Now I am not anti-abortion, but I don't see abortion as a "woman's right". While prevention is the best avenue, a woman should make a decision to abort in the first trimester. After that, it should not be her prerogative!Quote:

Obviously, voting would be too much work for her. If we are just going to let her vote because she claims to be a citizen, then we extend the the same trust to an illegal alien who wants to vote and is willing to claim citizenship. We are a country of laws. They can be inconvenient for some, but without them we have anarchy.
Once she is registered and keeps voting, she does not have to go through that procedure again!
California has over an estimated 2.5 million illegal aliens. If they vote, do you think they will vote Republican? I think the Democrats believe not.
Voting isn't a hassle once you are registered! https://www.alipac.us/images/icons/icon14.png It's the preparing to vote that is the hassle!
What evidence is there that they would have voted for my candidate?
Too inconvenienced to get ID, maybe they would have voted for HRC or Bernie???
They suppressed themselves by not going to get ID or registering to vote. I call that lazy and irresponsible. No ID, no activity, no participation to vote.
Good grief...so maybe we just check for a pulse at the voting booth. You show up, are breathing, have a pulse you can vote no matter what country you are a citizen from.
Department of Motor Vehicles issuing DL to illegal aliens and automatically registering illegal aliens to vote!
Something needs to be done about this! Those DL need to be deemed Null & Void.
We need to pass National Voter ID Law and those people need to be vetted who are applying for it like getting your Passport. Now our DL have been comprised just as our voting system has been compromised!
Because Voter Photo ID is mostly in Red States, so its Republicans who have been most affected by it so far.Quote:

What in the world???? Your logic is absolutely baffling at times. Voter ID laws are designed to stop fraudulent voting. The reason voter ID laws are "mostly" in Red States is because Blue States won't pass them for obvious reasons. The majority of fraudulent voters vote Democrat .... but of course you know that.
Your earlier argument was voter ID laws make it tough on crippled little old ladies in wheelchairs. Now you're attempting to tell us that voter ID laws negatively affect Republican voters. Amazing.
Who who do you think the "crippled little old ladies in wheelchairs" vote for in Red States? I honestly don't know who you think you're trying to impress with these disgusting posts that have been going on all day on this thread about senior citizens, but it's certainly not senior citizens or their families, which spans at least 3 generations of voters.
Just a personal example of who stops voting with voter photo ID.
If I want to drive, I'll get an drivers license.
If I want to hunt, I'll get a hunting license.
If I want to fish, I'll get a fishing license.
If I want to carry a weapon, I'll get a concealed firearm license.
All those things are not rights but privileges.
If I want to vote. I'll get a ballot and the state and federal government need to mind the 24th Amendment.
Which means if I have a license, I'm good. If I don't have a license, I'm good.
No money, should be exchanged at all! Period!
You didn't say who was paying for the ID.
In my state here are all the fees.
https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/fees.htm
Now we have to pay for free ID's? A lot of things I do not want to pay for in this country but I have to.
I want the privilege to drive but I have to PAY for car insurance and pay for a license to drive.
I would like free healthcare, free housing, free food, free phone, free cable TV, free gas. I have to pay for that too. I have to pay $25 bucks for Sports Tax on my cable bill...I do not watch sports and they refuse to take it off!
Life is not fair, is it?
Want to vote? Go pay for an ID. We have massive voter fraud.
Everybody needs ID in this country. You must show it at the Doctor's office, to a police officer, fly, a lot of places check ID's. The bank checks my ID. Using my credit card shopping I am asked for my ID and say "thank you" for checking it!!!
We need to get off the "free" stuff mentality and grow up and accept your responsibilities in life. Whaa, whaa, whaa, whaa. And these ID's are good for 8-10 years. Wow, break the bank on that, what's it cost? $3 bucks a year to have an ID?
There is no fee for a voter ID in your state of Texas. The voter ID has to be renewed every six years unless you're 70 years old or older (those card have no expiration date).
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the requirement of a voter ID is legal, however, there can be no required fee to vote. That is why states that require a government issued voter ID must make a photo ID for the sole purpose of voting free of charge.

Oh gee, I wonder why they did that?Quote:

I support free ID for voting only. Extremely vetted!
I do not support DMV automatically registering people to vote. Too much fraud by the State and it's employees!
Geez, are you seriously asking this question? They probably did it so as not to inconvenience the elderly anymore than they felt necessary. Isn't the law being a hassle for the elderly one of the things you were complaining about earlier?
It's not an exemption from the law, it's an exception to the law. They still have to produce their photo ID when voting.
