    Honduran golpe de estado

Just what we need, another 2 million "Catrachos" here in The States with "Temporary" Protected Status. Temporary means forever in immigration law double-speak. Chavez, Castro, and some so-called Social Democrats are behind this. President Zelaya's attempt to conduct a "National Opinion Poll on Constitution Reforms" had been declared unconstitutional by both the Honduran Supreme Court and the majority of unicameral Parliament concurred. Cuban and Venezuelan operatives had been discovered conducting ACORN type activities amonst the population at large to promote and ultimately skew the results of this so called "National Opinion Poll".

Nobody likes military coups and they often turn out for the worse, however, preliminary indications are that the military has acted with defense of the present constitution in mind.

We had Hondurans here before on temporary visas and they over stayed them. The government rather than deporting them for over staying turned around and gave them new ones as you really can't extend an expired visa.
Now the MS-13 gang members who are Honduran and there are plenty of them, can go and fight in their country instead of our streets.

Yeah, but this time the Military isn't running the country. The Congress elected a new President today and he is a civilian, the former President of the Congress. They will have new elections later in the year. Zelaya was causing difficulties trying to get another term and re-writing the Constitution to try to get himself another term as President when they have 1 term limits. He is trying to pattern a government like that of Chavez's socialist government in Venezuela. It's probably best that he's out since he tried to challenge the other 2 branches of government.

Evidently Venezuela and Cuba were very much a part of his attempt to hold a referendum to alter the constitution so he could run for another term of office. Now Chavez is making noises about sending his military in to "restore order". This also is a good way to divert attention away from Venezuela's own internal difficulties.

And, of course as long as the United States remains "at war" abroad (which evidently is now going to be forever), our own leaders and large business interests ("military contractors") also have an excuse to drain the U.S. treasury dry.
