Arizona traffic stop yields 7.8 pounds of heroin

HOLBROOK, Ariz. - Two women have been arrested on drug charges after authorities discovered a shipment of heroin on Interstate 40 in northern Arizona near Holbrook.

Navajo County sheriff's deputies searched a car on the interstate Sunday after a drug-sniffing dog alerted them to the vehicle.

Deputies report finding 7.8 pounds of heroin with a street value estimated at $350,000.

Sheriff's Lt. Randy Moffitt says 27-year-old Elisa Flores Felix and 25-year-old Campos Carrillo were booked into the Navajo County Jail on charges of transporting a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Felix's bond was set at $20,000, while Carrillo's bond was set at $30,000.
