Army Ranger gets 20-year sentence for shooting known terrorist

An honorable American family sacrificed on the altar of political correctness…when will it stop?

1st LT Michael Behenna, Army Ranger, is now serving a 20-year sentence for shooting Ali Mansur, a known AlQaeda insurgent that attacked, wounded, and killed US soldiers.

Having captured Mansur, he was ordered to release Mansur and escort him to his home. Enroute, Mansur attacked Behenna, and was shot in self-defense. Forensics ordered by the Prosecution proved Behenna’s innocence, truthfulness, and bravery. Dr. MacDonell was ready to testify, but was never called. Trajectory and splatter showed Mansur was shot standing with both arms outstretched. Furthermore, this evidence was deliberately hid and never provided to the defense ignoring the Brady Law. Behenna’s mother is a lawyer with the DOJ and was instrumental in convicting Timothy McVeigh, his father is an intelligence analyst for the FBI. This is an honorable family.

Imagine that you’ve learned in your local newspaper and on TV that a serial murderer is stalking and killing people in your community. Anxious and concerned for the safety of your family, you buy a gun.

Then your worst nightmare happens. Lying in bed and drifting off to sleep, you hear a loud sound downstairs — the unmistakable explosion of your front door being battered down and the menacing footsteps of an intruder climbing the stairs to your bedroom. You cock your already-loaded gun, and when the thug lunges at you, you shoot.

Now dead, he is positively identified as the man who murdered the other people in your town … and you are hailed as a hero.

You don’t consider yourself a hero at all, but simply a regular citizen protecting his family. When polls are taken about what you did, 90 percent of people say they would have done the same thing, 6 percent say they would have “reasonedâ€

This poor kid has had his clemency hearing and the Clemency Board decided merely to reduce his sentence from 25 to 20 years for shooting an Al-Qaeda terrorist in self-defense who had murdered US Soldiers.

What the hell is going on in our country and US military? Who are they trying to impress or appease with the life of this young Lieutenant in the US Army Rangers DURING A WAR?!!

The forensics expert for the prosecution said he shot him in self-defense, but the prosecutors refused to call him to testify at trial.

This is an outrage! Why hasn't the media made more of this?! Too busy following Palin and Bristol around the Oprah Show and Obama around his organic garden?!



So are we now to believe that our Military is as corrupt as our Congress?

This is getting out of control now, what next? Are we going to treat the battle field as a crime scene and send in forensic scientists to analyze it to find improper conduct with the engagement? Recently, orders were made public that troops in afghanistan were ordered not to conduct operations at nighttime in order to miminize civilian casualties, real smart move telling your enemies that they now have an advantage logistically at nighttime . Only an idiot would give up a clear advantage on the battlefield and then annouce it to the press. , A clear message has been sent to our troops that you risk being arrested by taking prisoners, the real message? Surrendering enemy combatants will be mowed down, better that than to risk having false charges filed against you.

It sure does, but I think these prosecutors were military prosecutors.

This is totally disgusting! An American soldier being jailed for defending himself in a WAR zone, yet a Muslim extremist executes 13 Americans on a military base on US soil and is handled with kid gloves!?!?!?!
