Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will tout former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's presidential bid to a group of Republican business professionals Thursday night.

Arpaio will address the Republican Professionals Association at the 6 Lounge in Scottsdale. The group is made up of young businesspeople, small-business owners and entrepreneurs.

Romney already has garnered some business and political backing in Arizona, home to Republican presidential rival John McCain. Vestar Development Co. Chairman Lee Hanley, public relations consultant Jason Rose, political consultant Kevin DeMenna and Fulton Homes President Doug Fulton are backing Romney in the 2008 race.

Jim Ogsbury, a former congressional staffer and lobbyist for Triadvocates LLC public affairs group in Phoenix, also will address the Republican Professionals Association. Ogsbury is among the Republicans challenging U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell, a freshman Democrat in a Republican-oriented congressional district that includes Scottsdale, Tempe and west Mesa.
