$50,000 Grant helps fund Million Trees L.A. Initiative
LOS ANGELES, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- To help kick off the Great
American Cleanup effort, the nation's largest annual community improvement
program, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation will contribute $50,000
to Keep Los Angeles Beautiful, Inc. A check presentation will take place on
Saturday, March 3, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., at the steps of Los Angeles City
Hall, 200 N. Spring Street, featuring Bank of America executives, Mayor
Antonio Villaraigosa, White House environmental representative Ed Pinero,
and actor Ed Begley Jr.
Bank of America is the first private sector business to contribute to
Keep Los Angeles Beautiful, the local chapter of Keep America Beautiful
which oversees the annual cleanup day nationwide. The funds will go toward
neighborhood revitalization efforts, such as the citywide Million Trees
L.A. Initiative.
Bank of America's charitable contribution to Keep Los Angeles Beautiful
is part of the company's ongoing environmental efforts to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions across its operations, and to help communities in which it
serves do the same. These efforts include:
- Bank of America's new incentive program providing $3,000 to Bank of
America associates who purchase hybrid vehicles has already seen fast
results, with more than 60 Southern California banking associates
buying hybrid cars in the first eight months of the new program.
- Aggressive, voluntary goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across
the company nine percent by 2009 through the reduction of its energy
consumption.
- Reducing operational paper usage 32 percent from 2000-2005, even as its
customer base grew 24 percent. Annually, the bank recycles nearly
50,000 tons of paper, effectively recycling more paper than it uses for
internal operations.
About Keep Los Angeles Beautiful
Keep Los Angeles Beautiful empowers neighborhoods and community groups
to improve their environment while building partnerships with the City of
Los Angeles and to inspire residents to become part of the solution and
play a major role in the beautification of their neighborhoods through tree
planting, recycling and graffiti removal programs.

They are trying to do everything they can to give their image a boost. Anyone see their new commercial?
It says: "Bank of America, Bank of Opportunity"
It should say: "Bank of America, Bank of Opportunists"

In our newspaper this week there was a full page ad for their bank, never saw such a spread before. It was a waste of money in my opinion.

Let them waste the money of the illegals. They are on PR damage control. Even though they say our Boycott doesnt bother them. What are they going to do when we alert millions more Americans?
