    BCFS names new head of border women’s health initiative San Antonio Business Journal

    BCFS has appointed Jesus Reynoso de Cordova to become the new program director for its Healthy Start Laredo initiative.

    The program provides medical care for women and children living in the Colonias along the U.S.-Mexico border.

    BCFS provides medical care and case management services to Colonia residents who are either pregnant or have a child under two years of age.

    The organization provides prenatal and postpartum care via a mobile medical unit, through health and parenting education, pediatric services, laboratory services, pharmacy services and outpatient case management services.

    BCFS is a health and human services organization with offices and programs throughout Texas, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa.

    The organization is based in San Antonio and is the former Baptist Child & Family Services. BCFS also provides medical special needs sheltering and critical emergency support services to state and local governments during disasters.

    Let's make sure every illegal crossing the border and who is pregnant has access to health care in this country!

    I want to know if this group receives government funding. I couldn't quite tell from their website. They ask for donations, but no mention of funding sources.
