Biden Claims Gun Control Not About ‘Taking Away’ Rights, Then Proposes Doing The Opposite

Here’s an update on what President Joe Biden is saying about U.S. gun rights, versus what he actually wants to do so you can try and keep up with his flip-flopping rhetoric.
During a speech on Thursday night following last week’s tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Biden said that none of his gun control agenda is “about taking away anyone’s rights.” Directly after that comment, Biden proceeded to propose the opposite.

The President called for banning extremely popular semi-automatic long guns, claiming that the firearm holds “high-capacity magazines.”
“We need to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines,” Biden said. “And if we can’t ban assault weapons, then we should raise the age to purchase them from 18 to 21, strengthen the background checks.”

Biden also proposed enacting red flag laws, which by nature would strip Americans of due process. After that, he announced that he would be going after gun manufacturers.
Of course, as many like Tucker Carlson have pointed out, none of Biden’s goals would have stopped the Uvalde shooting. Nor would they have prevented many of the other tragic shootings in the U.S. over the past couple of years including Sandy Hook.
Instead, they would primarily punish law-abiding gun owners. And as Joe Rogan put it, Americans ought to stay cautious when crafting policies to deal with tragedy because “freedoms lost are rarely regained.”
Biden, along with many other Democrats, has politicized recent tragedies to attack Republican lawmakers. Which is rich coming from the President considering his son, Hunter Biden, has recently been accused of committing a felony by lying on a background check form to illegally purchase a firearm.
“Hunter Biden lied on a Form 4473 to illegally purchase a gun, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison & a $250K fine,” attorney Arthur Schwartz tweeted. “His girlfriend then dumped that gun in the trash next to a school. He wasn’t even arrested. Why don’t we enforce existing laws before demanding new ones?”

Especially as new information emerges regarding the poor handling of the Uvalde shooting, it’s becoming more and more apparent that additional firearms on site could have prevented some of the deaths on that tragic day. As reaction times would have been much quicker, and the shooter would have been confronted by someone with a firearm far sooner than what the Uvalde police department supplied.

On another note, per a new poll, the majority of Americans disagree with Biden and his claims that fewer guns would mean safer schools. Arguing that armed teachers who were properly trained would pose a much more viable solution.
So while Biden continues to gaslight law-abiding gun owners for their role in mass shootings across the nation, it’s clear that his rhetoric towards securing American Second Amendment rights does not align with the policies he’s actually trying to enforce. He’s saying one thing but proposing the opposite.

Americans are seeing through Democrats’ smokescreens and mirrors.
