YREKA, Calif. — Authorities say they're about to destroy what they're calling one of the largest marijuana gardens ever discovered in Siskiyou County.

Sheriff officials say law enforcement doing a flyover of the Low Gap area near Seiad Valley this week spotted several growing operations, including one that had about 50,000 pot plants.

Authorities plan to raid the gardens on the ground to destroy the plants.

In Napa County, authorities destroyed 12,700 marijuana plants Wednesday in raids in the Robert Louis Stevenson and Bothe-Napa Valley state parks. They estimate the street value of the crop to be $38.1 million.
Rangers in Yosemite National Park got rid of 4,735 marijuana plants valued at nearly $19 million on Thursday, as well. Two suspects fled before agents could arrest them.
