MEXICO CITY – Violent drug gangs in Mexico, which kill thousands of people a year, fund the building of churches in impoverished villages to try to win over locals, a senior Catholic bishop said.

Aguiar, who heads Mexico's Catholic bishops' conference, said drug traffickers pour money into poverty-stricken towns where the government lacks funds to build roads or provide electricity.

The Mexican Economy ranks somewhere between the 10th to 15th largest of all nations from year to year, yet the central government of this corrupt state fails to aid its own people. Of course the criminal gangs step in and bribe the people for their support. Elitist scum like Fox and Calderon, through their indifference to the plight of 80% of their own citizens, in effect, invite the result.

The Bishops should turn the money down. It's blood money. How many lives destroyed by making that money.

The Mexican elite and government should be ashamed of themselves. Invest in your country and people you claim to love so much.
