Black GOP Republican need not apply for membership in Black Caucus

Years ago Groucho Marx proclaimed he wouldn't want to be a member of any organization that would actually admit him. Perhaps Tim Scott, a black Republican from South Carolina who has a good chance of becoming a representative to Congress by winning the general election in November, feels the same way about joining the Black Congressional Caucus. As John Steele Gordon of Commentary Magazine's Contentions blog points out http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs ... don/319016
But assuming Scott is elected, he needn't apply for membership in the Congressional Black Caucus, of course. It's a measure of how little the left in American politics has changed in the last 50 years that the Black Caucus - devoted to race-based politics and victimology - admits only liberal Democratic members.
Scott is black; Scott is not a liberal.
Could he sue for discrimination? Just asking.
