Carpentersville mural rides off into sunset

The Carpentersville mural of a man in a sombrero that raised the hackles of village officials has been painted over.
Village board members called the mural, on the side of a building at Illinois 25 and Hazard Road, a violation of village code, and Village President Bill Sarto threatened to paint it over himself while Trustee Paul Humpfer offered to help.
But the building's manager did the makeover.
Sarto said he wasn't sorry to see the man in the mural ride off into the sunset.
"It's high time they got it done," he said.

They could be turning into 'Little Mexico' (other Gold Coast communities call us that) like Waukegan. I've never heard of our city going after the questionable art work and signs around our city... We have many white/green/red buildings cropping up around town -wonder if that could go into a code violation. Ughh....
