Fugitive linked to Baja crime ring arrested in Riverside

A Baja Mexican fugitive, who was wanted for running an organized crime ring, is being held in San Diego pending extradition to Mexico.
FBI agents from San Diego and Riverside arrested Jose Manuel Garibay Felix Friday morning at a Department of Motor Vehicles office in Riverside County.


Felix, 24, had been living in Riverside with a sister but it's not clear why he was at the DMV. His California driver's license, under the name Jose Manuel Garibay, expires in 2012.

An 11-page complaint on file with the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles says [b]Felix and his relatives led the Los Garibay organization, which was based at the Los Garibay Ranch in the Mexicali Valley of Baja California. The group was “devoted to drug trafficking, kidnapping, murder, armed robbery and theft,â€
