There was a time in America when police, etc. believed there was no such thing as a husband raping his wife. There was a time when the police did nothing about a husband beating his wife. Just 30 years ago. These laws would set us back. I well remember the movement to change this attitude, remember the movie "Burning Bed". This movie should be required for every Muslim woman in the U.S.
