Cambridge — The Cambridge City Council passed a resolution Monday night supporting the DREAM Act, legislation that would allow undocumented youth a path to citizenship on the condition they complete a college degree or two years in the military.

Immigrant Renata Teodoro, 22, who moved to this country from Brazil 17 years ago, told the Council her family had been deported, and she works to pay her own way through school.

In my opinion "Civil Rights" has NOTHING to do with deportation of illegal aliens and a pathway to citizenship when their immigrating was done against the laws of this country

How can this City Council make a decision on the Dream Act when the Dream Act itself has not been passed in our Congress as of yet?

That is exactly like Arizona protecting their citizens by making a law (SB1070) that makes it unlawful to be in their state ILLEGALLY. And it was shot down by a Federal JUdge.

Of course we have sanctuary cities which should be ILLEGAL and have ALL FEDERAL FUNDING STOPPED.

The right to vote is a civil liberty. The right to have the result of votes that protect the interest of citizens and have them respected is a civil right. To ignore immigration law is a violation of civil rights. For politicians to vote against the rights of citizens is a travesty not protection of their citizens civil rights.

    What

What makes people think it is a civil or human right to be allowed in another nation?
It really just challenges legitimacy of national sovereignty...

Sent by a friend from the 1934 Chigcago Tribune.

Check the sign on the side of the wagon. It looks like things haven't changed in 80 years.

The jackass and the wagon are the same, only the characters in the wagon have changed. Amazing.
