Should this method move forward and the consumer pays a carbon tax upon use or purchase, the products owner, business collects the tax and gains interest while holding, then sends to the government with some of it to be redistributed back to the public, or some of them, in the meantime also inflation has taken 3%(?) if the tax is refunded a year later. The consumer is shorted no matter how this cookie crumbles.That new strategy should abandon Wall Street’s preferred cap-and-trade method in favor of some type of carbon tax that returns money to households, movement leaders are now saying.
