Cheney hospitalized with chest pains, staff says

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, 69, is resting comfortably at George Washington University Hospital, his staff said.(CNN) -- Former Vice President Dick Cheney has been hospitalized with chest pains, his staff confirmed Monday.

His doctors are evaluating the situation, and he is resting comfortably at George Washington University Hospital, the staff said in a statement.

Cheney, 69, has had a history of heart problems. He had four heart attacks from 1978 to 2000. In June 2001, doctors implanted a cardioverter defibrillator, a device that monitors and normalizes an irregular heartbeat.

Chest pain has been a recurring problem for Cheney. With his atrial fibrulation, he will always have near events til he passes on. I don't understand why this is always news.

Because he wasn't hunting with somebody?

Me either. This has been an ongoing thing that I remember came up in the 2000 election. His heart issues were something of concern for being a VP. Anyway, prayers to him and his family.
