    A recent budget cut of more than a $1 million in state funds has affected Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), a non-profit agency.

    At the state level, the cut directly impacted the Family Center Promotoras program, which provides a wide range of social services that CPLC offers separately and in coordination with other agencies.

    The Promotoras program had to dismiss 25 employees, five were in the Yuma area.

    “We didn’t have control over these changes. We knew this year would be hard, but it is a problem facing many agencies that rely on state funds,â€
