Jenelle Dorner, 32, of Bloomington, Indiana, doesn’t eat chicken. In fact, she hardly eats anything. “Each night while I sleep, I’m fed nutrients and fluids by IV,â€

Ewe......never dealt with eating chickens....just laying chickens. Ours went to dog food and such and this doesn't sound much better.

My friend lives near a large chicken farm. She said that the birds you get are nothing but pumped up chicks, thus the reason they are so tender. If you buy a free-range chicken, it will have had about one year to reach that size and honestly is not as tender as the farmed ones, but obviously safer.

The conditions at these mass farms is scary too. It stinks to high heaven at my friends place, especially in summer, and the fly population is something out of a horror/sci-fi movie, that alone gives me pause to buy that brand.

I looked that bacteria up and the CDC site says this young womans condition is a result of the bacteria bringing on an already dormant genetic disorder she carried, yet may not have ever developed had it not been for the bacteria she ingested. That is terribly sad.

The more I learn about corporate farms, the more I think we all need to be on farms growing everything ourselves. This poisoning the people stuff is getting REAL OLD!

That was really disturbing. It's getting so we can't eat anything anymore. I was watching a program the other night about how all of us are loaded with heavy metals in our systems - lead, aluminum, etc. And it's very difficult to get rid of. There's chelation therapy to help rid your system temporarily, but basically there's no way to avoid them entirely. You can only minimize your exposure like not using aluminum foil or pots. There's even lead in womens lipstick! It's enough to make you want to live in a plastic bubble. (oh wait, isn't plastic toxic too?)

I've been buying Bell & Evans Chickens and so far I've been really satisfied. They're organic and let me tell you, you can see and taste the difference.

I have one good cast iron pan in my home. As a family, we feel this is a kitchen must. That frying pan get kept oiled, seasoned and ready to go. I have long thought about getting more and also some copper pans too. These two are some of the best to use for your health (you get "leached" iron and copper from them, and both are needed minerals for you body).
