Kill the Messenger, in theaters now, is based on the true story about investigative journalist Gary Webb who connected the CIA to the crack cocaine epidemic.



The CIA supported the Nicaraguan Contra Rebel organizations cocaine smuggling operations into the U.S. to help pay for their revolt against the Nicaraguan Sandinista government.

Gary Webb, the journalist made famous for exposing the CIA's Contra cocaine connection, reputedly took his own life on December 10, 2004 - by shooting himself in the head, twice.

Discounted and blacklisted by the mainstream press, Webb was unable to find another job as a journalist.

Although he was clearly ruined as revenge for his work, it looks like he will get the final word.

A film based on his series "Dark Alliance" was just released, starring Oscar winner Jeremy Renner. The film is called "Kill the Messenger".

We don't have Gary with us anymore, but his work & the thirst for truth in which it was done live on.

Gary connected the dots of the CIA's complicity in the crack epidemic of the 1980s.

There were many who did not want this information to see the light of day.

As a result, his work was widely discredited - by his own colleagues.

The worst part is that it was all true.

Gary's eventual suicide may have silenced him, but the new film "Kill the Messenger" resurrects his work and brings shame to those who sought to destroy him. -

Gary Webb was right.

The CIA eventually confessed to
the details of the criminal activity
that Gary Webb reported.

But the "free press" made sure
that Gary Webb's career was
ruined for telling the truth.
